Privacy Policy
Effective July 6, 2026
This policy is written to be readable first: what PlanePeek collects, why it needs it, who may process it, and how you can control it.
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how PlanePeek collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our aircraft logbook review, due diligence, billing, support, and related services.
PlanePeek is built for aircraft buyers and advisors. Uploaded logbooks and aircraft records may include personal information about owners, mechanics, sellers, shops, or other third parties. Only upload records that you have the right to provide to us.
Information we collect
- Account information, such as your name, email address, password hash, session information, notification settings, report credits, and account preferences.
- Aircraft and report information, including tail numbers, seller or listing details, uploaded logbooks, PDFs, images, text files, extracted text, OCR output, rendered page images, notes, findings, citations, and generated reports.
- Payment and billing information handled through Stripe, such as checkout sessions, customer identifiers, invoices, receipts, purchase history, and credit-pack fulfillment status. PlanePeek does not store full card numbers.
- Communications, including contact form messages, support requests, report-ready emails, password-reset emails, and related delivery metadata.
- Usage, device, and security information, including server logs, authentication events, request metadata, error reports, observability events, and diagnostics used to keep the service reliable and secure.
- Public-source information from FAA, NTSB, marketplace, aircraft photo, and other third-party sources that we use to build or support a report.
How we use information
- Create and secure accounts, authenticate users, manage sessions, and provide settings and account-deletion tools.
- Create aircraft reports, prepare documents, run OCR, analyze records, generate findings, show source citations, and send report-ready notifications.
- Process purchases, apply report credits, issue receipts, maintain billing records, and prevent duplicate or unauthorized fulfillment.
- Respond to contact requests, troubleshoot reports, investigate bugs, detect abuse, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations.
- Improve PlanePeek's reliability, workflow quality, and user experience, including by reviewing aggregated or diagnostic information.
AI and service providers
PlanePeek may use trusted service providers to host the app, store data, process payments, send email, monitor errors, and run analysis. Depending on the configured analysis backend, report data and uploaded content may be sent to AI providers so they can generate the report you requested.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use uploaded aircraft records for targeted advertising. Service providers may process information only to provide, protect, support, or improve the services they perform for PlanePeek, subject to their own applicable terms and data-processing commitments.
Retention
We keep account, report, uploaded document, billing, email, and log information for as long as needed to provide PlanePeek, maintain records, troubleshoot issues, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
If you delete your account or ask us to delete report data, we will delete or de-identify information where reasonably possible, subject to backups, security logs, billing records, legal requirements, and other limited exceptions.
Choices and rights
- You can update your profile, notification settings, password, and account status from Settings.
- You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export personal information by using the contact page or your account controls.
- California and other state privacy laws may give eligible users additional rights, including rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and avoid discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
- PlanePeek does not sell personal information. If our practices change in a way that requires a sale or sharing opt-out, we will update this policy and provide the required controls.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including password hashing, HTTP-only session cookies, access controls, logging, and provider security controls. No internet service can guarantee perfect security.
Children
PlanePeek is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
International users
PlanePeek is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate.
Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. The updated date will show when the policy was last revised. Questions or privacy requests can be sent through the contact page.
